Affinity Reagents

Affinity reagents and affinity-based tools utilize complex networks of specific interactions between various molecules for use in the separation, purification or analysis of proteins. Affinity purification requires an affinity ligand to be coupled to a matrix, which allows capture of the intended product from a complex mixture. Gold Biotechnology’s affinity reagents are activated beads or preactivated resins for use in coupling of affinity ligands and immobilization. Our affinity beads are specifically engineered to meet your specialized needs, whether it be laboratory scale experiments or industry scale separations. GoldBio’s agarose beads are conveniently cross-linked to include any of the following: aminoethyl or glyoxal groups, glutathione S-transferase, Protein A, Protein G, streptavidin and His-tag metal ions such as nickel, cobalt, copper or zinc.

Nickel HTC 6% Agarose Beads are suitable for downstream purification using IMAC. These resins combine the advantages of Nickel purification with the high flow rates of the HTC resin (70% higher than commercial standards).

HTC beads are high throughput beads designed to meet the demand for industrial process separation. Their rigidity and mechanical resistance permits high flow rates, with good resolution in a minimum time frame, making these beads ideal for process-scale use. Description

Protein A agarose resin consists of rProtein A covalently bound to cross-linked agarose beads. It provides a very stable bond that can greatly minimize leakage of the Protein A allowing for reuse of the affinity resin in several purification steps. Protein A Agarose resin is available in bulk from 5-100 ml quantities.

Protein A resin is good for the purification of a wide range of Immunoglobulins of different mammalian species and also certain IgG subclasses that have no other affinity (see additional information).

Protein A is a cell wall component of Staphylococcus aureus. It consists of a single polypeptide chain shaped as a cylinder, which contains five antibody–binding domains. These high affinity regions are specifically bonded to Fc region of the immunoglobulins (specially IgGs of different species).

Recombinant Protein G contains only IgG binding domains. The albumin-binding domain as well as cell wall and cell membrane binding domains of native Protein G have been removed to ensure the maximum specific IgG binding capacity.

GoldBio offers rProtein G resins to isolate and purify classes, subclasses and fragments of immunoglobulins from cell culture media and biological fluids. Rapid purification and high yield of purified immunoglobulin are obtainable by this method.
