Product Description
This kit is intended for research use only. It is not to be used for diagnostic purposes.
The One Step RT-qPCR kit is used for detection of SARS-CoV-2 in vitro. The approach used for detection is by Real-Time quantitative PCR (RT-qPCR). SARS-CoV-2 is a novel coronavirus identified as the causing agent of a pneumonia outbreak in 2020.
The SARS-CoV-2 detection kit allows cDNA synthesis and qPCR in a single tube. This probe is based on a one step RT-qPCRS 2x master mix, consisting of Reverse Transcriptase, Taq DNA Polymerase, RNase Inhibitor, MgCl2, dNTPs, stabilizers, and low ROX reference dye with proprietary buffer. The kit provides an improved RT-qPCR efficiency, wider dynamic range, superior sensitivity and specificity. In addition, the kit contains CDC recommended primers/probe sets for SARS-CoV-2. This kit can be used to detect SARS-CoV-2 in respiratory specimens; such as sputum, nasopharyngeal, orophayringel aspirates, washes or swabs and tracheal aspirates.
The reverse transcriptase included in the kit is a recombinant MMLV reverse transcriptase with reduced RNase H activity and increased thermostability. It can produce cDNA from small amount of total RNA for real-time RT-qPCR analysis and other applications. Taq DNA Polymerase included in the kit is a thermostable DNA polymerase that possesses a 5’→3’ polymerase and a 5’→3’ exonuclease activity. The amplification step features a high quality Taq DNA Polymerase with robust, reliable, and better amplification.
The CDC recommended probes included in this One Step RT-qPCR detection kit for SARS-CoV-2 are: 2019-nCoV_N1 Probe, 2019-nCoV_N2 Probe and
RNAse P Probe. TaqMan® probes are labeled at the 5′-end with the reporter molecule
6-carboxyfluorescein (FAM) and with the quencher, Black Hole Quencher 1
(BHQ-1) (Biosearch Technologies, Inc., Novato, CA) at the 3′-end.
The One Step RT-qPCR kit is designed to be uses in a 20 μl reaction volume.
Product Includes:
- RT-qPCR 2x master mix
- CDC recommended primer/probe sets
- COVID-19 positive control (PTC)
Benefits
- Enhanced efficiency, specificity, and sensitivity
- Compatible with all real-time PCR instruments
Storage/Handling
Store the kit at -20°C. The qPCR Master Mix will be shipped
on blue ice and should be stored at -20°C immediately upon arrival. When stored
under the recommended condition and handled correctly, the kit should be stable
for at least 1 year from the date of receipt. Before use, thaw at room
temperature and mix well by gentle vortexing. After thawing, the master mix
should be kept on ice before use.
