TNF-α (Variant), Human

Description

Recombinant Human TNF-α (Variant) is a modified form of TNF-α designed with sequence changes that distinguish its receptor interactions from wild-type human TNF-α.

Compared with the wild-type protein, this 151 amino acid variant contains a deletion of amino acids 1-7 along with substitutions at residues 8, 9, 10, and 157.

These structural modifications make TNF-α (Variant) particularly valuable for research investigating TNF receptor selectivity and the relationship between TNF structure and biological activity.

The variant has been studied for preferential activity involving TNFR1 relative to TNFR2 in experimental models, providing a useful tool for comparing receptor-specific TNF signaling, cytotoxic responses, inflammatory signaling, and structure-function relationships.

Produced in E. coli and purified to greater than 98%, it offers researchers a distinct alternative to wild-type TNF-α for mechanistic studies.

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized powder. Purified and tested for use in cell culture.
