EREG (Epiregulin), Human

Description

GoldBio growth factors are manufactured for RESEARCH USE ONLY and cannot be sold for human consumption!

Recombinant Human Epiregulin
EREG
ER

EREG is a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family and is expressed mainly in the placenta and peripheral blood leukocytes, as well as in certain carcinomas of the bladder, lung, kidney, and colon. EREG stimulates the proliferation of keratinocytes, hepatocytes, fibroblasts and vascular smooth muscle cells. Additionally, it inhibits the growth of several tumor-derived epithelial cell lines. EREG is synthesized as a transmembrane protein and the ectodomain is cleaved by a protease to release the mature protein. The mature protein can bind to EGFR, as well as most members of the ERBB family of RTKs.

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized powder. Purified and tested for use in cell culture.

Source: Escherichia coli

MW: ~5.6 kDa (49 amino acids)

Purity: >97% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses

Biological Activities: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using murine Balb/c 3T3 cells is less than 2 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >5.0×105 IU/mg.

Storage/Handling:Store desiccated at -20°C.

HGNC: 3443
