FGF4, Human

Description

GoldBio growth factors are manufactured for RESEARCH USE ONLY and cannot be sold for human consumption!

Recombinant Human Fibroblast Growth Factor 4
Heparin Secretory Transforming Protein 1 (HSTF1)
Oncogene HST
Kaposi Fibroblast Growth Factor (KFGF)
Transforming Protein KS3
HBGF4

FGF4 is a member of the Fibroblast Growth Factor family of proteins and was first identified by its oncogenic activity. It plays an important role in embryonic development, acting as an autocrine or paracrine ligand through the FGFR 1c, 2c, 3c, and 4 receptors to support stem cell self-renewal. It is believed that FGF4, with the combined activity one or more apical ectodermal ridge FGFs (FGF2, FGF4, FGF8, and FGF9) works in a positive feedback loop with SHH to control limb development.

Sterile Filtered White lyophilized powder. Purified and tested for use in cell culture.

Source: Escherichia coli

MW: ~19.8 kDa (182 amino acids)

Purity: >96% by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses

Biological Activity: Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by thymidine uptake assay using FGF receptors transfected BaF3 cells is less than 0.5 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of >2.0×106 IU/mg.

Storage/Handling: Store desiccated at -20°C.

HGNC: 3682
