GoldBio’s EHA105 Agrobacterium cells are designed to deliver exceptional transformation efficiency for demanding applications. Engineered to carry a rifampicin resistance marker, the EHA105 strain also harbors an amber basic Ti plasmid (pEHA105; pTiBo542DT‑DNA) with the vir gene but lacking self-transport function—giving you robust vir gene activity without unintended plasmid mobility.

    GoldBio’s Auxo-Agro® competent cells are methionine auxotrophic strains of Agrobacterium which reduce overgrowth during the infection process while increasing plant transformation efficiency.

    Our EHA105 strain of Agrobacterium tumefaciens can be used in genetic transformation of tomato, tobacco and other plants. After transformation, antibiotics are commonly used to remove Agrobacterium. However, even in the presence of antibiotics, there can be overgrowth of the Agrobacterium strain which can create a more difficult experimental protocol. Auxo-Agro™ cells help to solve this problem when selection is performed in both minimal media without Methionine in combination with selective antibiotics, such as Timentin, Cefotaxime or Meropenem.

Although the pEHA105 plasmid is incapable of transferring its own T-DNA, it can still transfer foreign binary vector T-DNA.

    The presence of the pSoup helper plasmid is required for the replication of pGreen, 62SK, and pGs2 series plasmids, and also helps with Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of dicotyledonous plants like Arabidopsis thaliana, tobacco, and potato, as well as monocotyledonous plants such as corn.

    GoldBio’s EHA105 Agrobacterium strain was generated, and primary clone supplied by Dr. Elizabeth Hood.

The strain contains a rifampicin resistance gene (rif) and an amber basic Ti plasmid pEHA105 (pTiBo542DT-DNA), which carries the vir gene necessary for the insertion of T-DNA into the plant genome. Although the pEHA105 plasmid is incapable of transferring its own T-DNA, it can still transfer foreign binary vector T-DNA.

The p19 protein is derived from tomato bush dwarf virus and further improves the stability of heterologous gene transcripts by inhibiting RNA silencing of foreign. The combined suppression of ethylene and reduction of GABA significantly increases T-DNA transfer and increases transient and stable transformation frequencies in both tomato and grass plants. pSuperAgro™ v4tet has been modified to provide tetracycline resistance instead of the original pSuperAgro™ V4’s gentamicin resistance
