Teicoplanin is a glycopeptide antibiotic isolated from Actinoplanes teichomyceticus. It is a mixture of several teicoplanins. Teicoplanin is effective against gram-positive bacteria resistant to β-lactam antibiotics. It has been effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis.

Sulfamonomethoxine is a long-acting sulfonamide antibiotic. It is used in blood kinetic studies as well as to study the formation of capsules in Bordetella bronchiseptica. Sulfamonomethoxine is used to combat hyperpyrexia of unknown etiology.

Sulbactam is a β-lactamase inhibitor useful in combination with β-lactam antibiotics to increase their potency. It irreversibly inactivates β-lactamase enzymes, preventing them from degrading β-lactam antibiotics. Sulbactam has been used in combination with ampicillin and cefoperazone to inhibit β-lactamase enzymes during Agrobacterium-mediated plant genetic modifications. It may also be used in cell signaling studies. Sulbactam sodium is freely soluble in aqueous solution.
