Upregulation of expression of CCL6 has been observed after stimulation with IFNG, CSF1, CSF2, IL3, and IL4. CCL6 expression is also stimulated by IL-13 and is required for IL-13 stimulation of other chemokines. CCL6 is chemotactic for macrophages and lymphocytes and acts as a ligand primarily for CCR1. CCL6 has only been observed in rodents thus far; murine CCL6 is most homologous to human CCL23.
