1,2,4-Triazole is an aromatic molecule. It is a reagent for the synthesis of many different molecules, including conazole based antifungals, ribofuranosyl based antivirals and antitumor agents.

Sulfamethazine is broad-spectrum sulfonamide antibiotic targeting bacteria causing bronchitis and urinary tract infections. It is used in disposition and depletion studies of kinetics and to develop procedures used for quantification. Sulfamethazine is also an inducer of CYP3A4.

Trigonelline is an alkaloid and the product of niacin metabolism excretion. It is found in plants such as the coffee plant. In plants trigonelline is considered a diverse regulator for both cell cycle and other basic functions. Trigonelline can inhibit the Nrf2 transcription factor, rendering pancreatic cancer cells more susceptible to apoptosis. It also possesses an anti-diabetic effect when on KK-Ay when used on mice.

The pSuperAgro® v3 plasmid (pBBRgabT) was designed to include GabT activity, driven by the lac promoter, which degrades gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) during co-cultivation. The reduction of GABA significantly increases T-DNA transfer and increases transient and stable transformation frequencies in both tomato and grass plants.

GabT activity decreases GABA content locally in plant cells and induces higher shoot regeneration, decreasing the number of cotyledons used for transformation and reducing the time and labor required for transformation. This plasmid has been shown to be efficacious in both Hardy Pampas Grass ( E. Ravennae) and Tomato plants (S. Lycopersicum).

Xylenol Blue is a useful alternative to thymol blue developed in the 1920s. Xylenol Blue can be used at half the concentration that thymol blue requires. It is functional at the same two pH ranges, acidic (pH 1-3), which transitions from red to yellow, and basic (pH 8-10), which transitions from yellow to blue. Xylenol Blue may be substituted for any experiment that requires thymol blue.
