Protein Ladders

The BLUEstain™ 2 Protein ladder is a three-color protein standard with 13 prestained proteins, covering a wide range molecular weights from 3.5 to 245 kDa. Proteins are covalently coupled with a blue chromophore except for two reference bands (one green and one red band at 25 kDa and 75 kDa respectively) when separated on SDS-PAGE (Tris-glycine buffer).

The BLUEstain™ 2 Protein ladder is designed for monitoring protein separation during SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, verification of Western transfer efficiency on membranes (PVDF, nylon, or nitrocellulose) and for approximating the size of proteins. The ladder is supplied in gel loading buffer and is ready to use. Do not heat, dilute or add reducing agent before loading.

GoldBio's BLUEstain™ Low Range Protein Ladder is a ready-to-use, tri-color prestained protein standard containing six recombinant protein bands ranging from 2 to 40 kDa.

It is designed for approximate molecular weight estimation of low molecular weight proteins while allowing researchers to monitor protein separation during SDS-PAGE and confirm that electrophoretic transfer to a Western blot membrane has occurred.

The ladder is compatible with Tris-Tricine, Tris-Glycine, and Bis-Tris gel systems, although the apparent migration of prestained bands may vary somewhat between gel chemistries.

Two colored reference bands simplify gel interpretation and membrane orientation, allowing you to quickly identify key molecular weight markers during electrophoresis and protein transfer.

Clearly visible reference bands below 10 kDa make this ladder especially useful for monitoring and estimating the apparent sizes of small proteins, peptides, and other low molecular weight samples.

The ladder is supplied in a ready-to-use loading buffer containing Tris-phosphate, SDS, dithiothreitol (DTT), urea, and glycerol for consistent migration and long-term stability.
