Erlotinib HCl is an anti-cancer agent targeting epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine kinase ATP binding sites, which are commonly overexpressed and sometimes mutated in a variety of cancers. Erlotinib prevents the formation of EGFR homodimers leading to suppression of signal transmittance and tumor growth inhibition. Additionally, erlotinib suppresses cyclin-dependent kinase 2 (Cdk2). It has been shown to be effective against non-small cell lung cancer and pancreatic cancer.

Erythromycin is a macrolide antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces erythreus. It displays strong efficacy against gram-positive cocci and bacilli and some mycobacteria, mycoplasma, and spirochetes. In addition to its antimicrobial properties, erythromycin is a motilin receptor agonist that has been shown to inhibit respiratory glycoconjugate secretion in vitro. It has also been used to select for recombinant Lactococcus lactis MG1363 strains in microbiological applications.

Erythromycin ethylsuccinate is freely soluble in organic solvents.

Ethambutol is an antitubercular antibiotic effective against Mycobacterium species, especially Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It has been used to study multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and in combination with other drugs to decrease the risk of developing additional multidrug resistant species.

Ethambutol DiHCl is a hydrochloride salt form of an ethylenediamine derivative that is used as an anti-mycobiotic. It has been used for studying multidrug resistance in Mycobacterium tuberculosis and to investigate effective antibiotic combinations for ethambutol DiHCl.

Ethionamide is a thioamide antibiotic. Primarily targeting Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium leprae, ethionamide is useful against tuberculosis and leprosy. Although the mechanism is not well known, it is thought that ethionamide prevents synthesis of mycolic acids which are a required component of Mycobacterium cell walls. It is sparingly soluble.

EvaGreen® dye is a green fluorescent nucleic acid dye with features that make the dye useful for several applications including qPCR and DNA melt curve analysis, real-time monitoring of thermophilic helicase-dependent amplification (tHDA), and capillary gel electrophoresis. The DNA-bound dye has excitation and emission spectra very close to those of fluorescein (FAM) or SYBR® Green I, making the dye readily compatible with instruments equipped with the 488 nm argon laser or any visible light excitation with wavelength in the region. EvaGreen® dye is extremely stable both thermally and hydrolytically, providing convenience during routine handling. The dye is essentially nonfluorescent by itself, but becomes highly fluorescent upon binding to dsDNA. EvaGreen® dye is nonmutagenic and noncytotoxic by being completely impermeable to cell membranes, making it a great alternative to SYBR® Green I, which enters cell rapidly and is known to be a powerful mutation-enhancer (Ohta, et al. (2001). Mutation Research, 492(1), 91-97).

The unique properties of EvaGreen® dye have made it particularly useful in quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) applications. Compared with the widely used SYBR® Green I, EvaGreen® dye is generally less inhibitory toward PCR and less likely to cause nonspecific amplification. As a result, EvaGreen® dye can be used at a much higher dye concentration than SYBR® Green I, resulting in a high resolution signal for droplet digital PCR, real-time PCR and melt curve analysis.
