GoldBio’s Highest Density Nickel Agarose is a high capacity resin manufactured with a polychelator ligand. The product was developed to work in the presence of EDTA and DTT without any loss of performance. Its specificity and stability allows a one-step purification, eliminating the need for pretreatment of samples that cause nickel stripping.

Our Highest Density Nickel Agarose is supplied as a suspension in 50% aqueous suspension containing 20% ethanol. Purifications can be performed using 20mM EDTA and 20mM DTT and can work in both native as well as denaturing conditions.

Histamine dihydrochloride is a hydrophilic amine compound derived through the decarboxylation of histidine by L-histidine decarboxylase. It is a substrate used to assay histamine-N-methyltransferase ion-pair extraction of histamine using HPLC. Additionally, histamine dihydrochloride activates nitric oxide synthase and inhibits formation of reactive oxygen species.

Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is the most commonly used antibody-conjugated enzyme. Substrates for HRP are luminol and benzidine substrates. Tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) and similar substrates are oxidized by HRP in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, or nontoxic substitutes, to yield a chinoid structure of intense blue color.

The HRE-luciferase plasmid is designed for use in studies related to hypoxia (low oxygen) or oxygen-regulated gene expression. It contains a Hypoxia Response Element (HRE) upstream of a luciferase reporter gene. PTEN regulates p300-dependent hypoxia-inducible factor 1 transcriptional activity through Forkhead transcription factor 3a (FOXO3a).

The HRE-Luciferase plasmid is a synthetic plasmid obtained from a third party and its sequence has been confirmed at GoldBio.

Hydrocortisone is a glucocorticoid primarily produced by the adrenal cortex. It is used as an anti-inflammatory and is researched for its immunosuppressive and for glucose metabolism regulation. Hydrocortisone completes its action on a wide scale by binding glucocorticoid receptors which upregulates anti-inflammatory protein synthesis.

Hydroxyurea is a compound used in anti-cancer research to inhibit DNA synthesis and in sickle cell research for ways to alleviate symptoms. It has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of ribonucleotide reductase which reduces ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides.

In vivo research has shown hydroxyurea converting into a free radical nitric oxide which binds the active site of ribonucleotide reductase, ceasing further DNA synthesis. The mechanism of nitric oxide release from hydroxyurea is not well understood.

Hydroxyurea has also been shown to alleviate sickle cell anemia through its conversion to nitric oxide in vivo. Nitric oxide alleviates endogenous nitric oxide loss, caused by hemolysis, and stimulates soluble guanylate cyclase (sGC) activity which will signal fetal hemoglobin production.

Hygro99 is the purest form of Hygromycin B available. It is over 99% pure and should be used for the most sensitive applications and on the most sensitive cell lines. All impurities that might cause inhibition of resistant cell lines have been removed. In general, our Molecular Grade Hygromycin B (which is still ≥92 % pure and less expensive) will not adversely affect your cells and is suitable for most experiments.

Hygromycin B is an aminoglycoside antibiotic isolated from Streptomyces hygroscopicus. It is commonly used to study protein synthesis. Aside from its efficacy against bacteria, fungi, and higher eukaryotic cells, hygromycin B is also an antiviral agent inhibiting translation upon selectively entering cells made permeable due to viral infection. It works as a standard selection antibiotic in gene experiments, especially for selection of hygromycin resistance gene transformed cells.

IAA (Indole-3-Acetic Acid) is the abundant and well known plant hormone of the auxin class. IAA is predominantly produced in the apical bud of and young leaves of plants and is known to be an inducer of cell division and elongation. IAA, as well as most other auxins, are also known to act in concert with, or in opposition to, other plant hormones. For example, the ratio of auxin to cytokinin in certain plant tissues determines initiation of root versus shoot buds.

IBA (Indole-3-butyric acid) is a plant hormone belonging to the auxin family and assists in initiating root formation; the in vitro process is called micropropagation. Aside from accelerating root formation, it is used on various crops to stimulate flower development and the growth of fruits. This ultimately increases crop yields.

Historically, products that contained IBA were used to protect plants during transplantation by stimulating root growth and decreasing shock.
